Old German Bonds
1922
|
These are original German bonds that were issued in 1922 and were supposed to be redeemed in the mid 1930's but with the depression and Hitler. The citizens who invested into these bonds lost everything. After Germany's reunification, some German bonds became valid again and the German government honored them but not this type. I've had these since about 1967. These are an affordable collectible from Germany history. Nice quality and sharp details, printed on bonded paper that has the letters "RSV" watermarked throughout the design, (Reichs Schulden Verwaltung) (The Reichs Loans Administration) Each bond has its own serial number and is hand signed by one of various authorized representatives of the Reichs Loan Office. A large Imperial German Eagle and fancy dark green border really makes these bonds attractive! They are pretty impressive and look great in a frame and make a nice gift!
Size (8" X 9 1/2") $10. each

Imperial Russian Eagle Plaque
A round Copper plate or plaque, 4" diameter embossed with a beautiful Imperial Russian Eagle. It is an early Romanov Eagle without the 8 shields on the wings, probably made between 1857 and 1894. It has been cleaned and restored because it was apparently in a fire and also had so much dirty oxidation and crud on it that it was hard to even see the Eagle. It was cleaned and re-oxidized to darken the metal, then lightly cleaned on the upper surfaces of the Eagle. As a result, it has a nice patina and the Eagle really stands out!! This is a very attractive and old Russian Item and may be the only one to exist! I wish I knew what it was originally used for. It would look great on a wood plaque, framed or displayed with other Czarist items. $60.

(Czarist) Imperial Russian Buckles
These Imperial Russian Buckles were found on a battlefield near Przemysl Poland where the Russians and Austro- Hungarians were fighting during WWI. They were the standard issue buckle worn by enlisted men in the Imperial Russian Army. They bear the Romanov double Eagle which was used from 1857 to 1917. Imperial Russian buckles are fairly rare and in good condition usually sell for well over $150.

Old Russian photo,
This soldier is wearing the same kind of Imperial Russian buckle as I am selling here. The photo is mounted on an old card with Russian text on the back. I don't know why the image is at an angle on the bottom, the photo is not damaged, it may have been a mistake of the photographer. Size is 2 1/2" X 4 1/4" $20.

Old Manion's Militaria Auction Catalogs - Great Reference!
An excellent source for reference and research of German military collectibles and 3rd Reich memorabilia. They average 200 to 300 pages each with often over 1000 photos and descriptions. These would be great for new collectors to get familiarized with German WWII items in general. They often have bits of unique and helpful info. I also have some US Militaria catalogs and some Japanese and other countries catalogs. They have less pages than the German catalogs but still great info!
